Ukrainian state budget's revenue up 7%, general fund revenue increases by 95.9% in Jan
MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Revenue of the Ukrainian state budget's general fund stood at UAH 241.2 billion in January (as of January 30) or UAH 296 billion together with the special fund, which was 95.9% and 7% larger than respective indicators of January 2025, Ukrainian media said.
"The beginning of the budget year 2026 saw positive dynamics in revenue, owing to the sustainability of Ukrainian businesses and financial support by international partners," the media quoted a Finance Ministry statement.
International grants totaling UAH 101.4 billion were an important source of general fund revenue in January, causing the increase from January last year, the statement said.
As of the end of January, payments from the State Tax Service amounted to UAH 78.6 billion (versus UAH 75.0 billion in January 2025), it said.
The largest sources were VAT, amounting to UAH 34.2 billion, with a reimbursement of UAH 24.3 billion (UAH 36.6 billion, with a reimbursement of UAH 15.5 billion), and personal income tax and military tax - UAH 28.8 billion (UAH 23.8 billion).
In addition, excise tax brought in UAH 7.3 billion (UAH 9.3 billion), rent - UAH 4.1 billion (UAH 2.3 billion), and corporate income tax - UAH 3.3 billion (UAH 2.3 billion).
Payments from the State Customs Service totaled UAH 56.1 billion in January this year, compared to UAH 43.8 billion in January last year.
Unified social contributions (USC) to pension and social insurance funds totaled UAH 41.4 billion (as of January 27), while totaling UAH 40.8 billion as of January 30 last year.
As reported, the Ukrainian state budget of 2026 was adopted with revenues (excluding grants) of UAH 2.90 trillion and expenditures of UAH 4.77 trillion, including UAH 2.61 trillion and UAH 4.38 trillion in the general fund.
