Egypt wants to continue energy cooperation with Russia, Duma members to discuss legal regulation
MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - Egypt is keen on further strengthening its strategic partnership with Russia in the fuel and energy complex, Egypt's Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi said at a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev.
The talks involved Duma Energy Committee Chairman Nikolai Shulginov, who announced Duma members' working trip to Egypt to discuss a legal framework for bilateral energy cooperation with Egyptian parliamentarians, the Russian ministry's press service said on Thursday.
"Russia remains Egypt's reliable partner in mining projects. Russian companies are interested in long-term operation on the Egyptian market and fully honor their obligations," Tsivilev said, noting the successful implementation of joint projects to develop mineral deposits in Egypt.
