UAE president plans to discuss economy, investment, trade, energy, int'l issues at talks with Russian president on Thurs - media

DUBAI. Jan 28 (Interfax) - United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin intend to discuss various economic and trade issues at talks on Thursday, the UAE's WAM official news agency reported on Wednesday.

"During the visit, His Highness will meet with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to explore opportunities to strengthen ties, particularly related to the economy, trade, investment, energy, and other sectors that support shared development within the framework of the two countries' strategic partnership," WAM said.

The two leaders will also address regional and international matters of interest to the UAE and Russia, it said.

The Kremlin press service said earlier on Wednesday that Putin would hold talks with the UAE president on January 29.

"Key areas of multifaceted Russian-UAE cooperation, the current situation in the Middle East, and other items on the global agenda will be discussed," it said.
