Damate Group begins supplying turkey meat to Philippines
MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Damate Group, a leading turkey producer in Russia, has begun supplying turkey meat products to the Philippines.
"The first batch of breast fillet has already arrived in the destination country. Supplies are continuing," the group's press service said. The company does not disclose shipment levels.
Damate received permission to export last year. Export shipments are being carried out from the turkey production facility in the Penza region. "After an audit, the complex's enterprises confirmed their full compliance with the safety requirements for products established in the Philippines. The audit was conducted in person and included an assessment of the entire production process," the company said.
"Working in Southeast Asian markets is one of the strategic tasks for developing Damate's export division. Entering the Philippine market has allowed us to expand our presence in this region. We expect to establish regular supplies, as turkey meat is in demand in the country," Damate Deputy General Director for Marketing and Sales Daria Lashchenko was quoted as saying.
Damate began developing its export division in 2015. To date, it has permits to supply products made from turkey, duck and lamb to over 60 countries worldwide.
Damate produced 241,500 tonnes of turkey meat in slaughter weight in 2024, up 2% compared to 2023.
Damate develops several areas of agricultural business. In addition to turkey meat production, the group produces lamb and duck meat, and is also engaged in milk processing. The group's assets are located in the Penza, Rostov and Tyumen regions, and in the North Caucasus Federal District. Its land fund amounts to over 100,000 hectares in the group's regions of presence.
