Kirov Region looking to build a milk processing plant with Belarus' participation

KIROV. Jan 26 (Interfax) - The Kirov Region is looking to build a milk processing plant in the region with the participation of Belarusian businesses.

The Kirov Region government press service reports that Governor Alexander Sokolov summarized the work of the region's delegation in Belarus at a weekly operational meeting on Monday.

"We arrived with a specific portfolio of proposals - both for the entry of Belarusian businesses into the Kirov Region and for the presentation of our products - which can be used by Belarusian enterprises," Sokolov was quoted as saying.

The initiative to establish a joint milk-processing venture was particularly discussed.

"We are focused on collaborating with a specific Belarusian company and are proposing to build a Belarusian plant in our region. We are targeting a specific brand, Savushkin Product," Sokolov's press service quoted him as saying.

Sokolov said that the region is expecting a business mission from Belarus in the near future, "which will work through this issue in detail."
