Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing data
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic across the Ukrainian border grew around 27% to 598,000 travelers on the first week of this year, January 3-9, Ukrainian media said, citing statistical data from the State Border Guard Service.
The number of departures increased to 258,000 from 223,000 the week before, while the increase in arrivals was even more substantial: 271,000 versus 184,000.
The number of vehicles crossing the border also grew to 95,000 from 77,000 the week before, and the number of humanitarian trucks rose to 342 from 268.
An update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees estimated the number of Ukrainian refugees at 5.860 million worldwide on December 11, 2025 (versus 5.850 million on November 14), including 5.311 million in Europe (5.331 million).
According to the latest UN update, there were 3.340 million displaced persons in Ukraine in July 2025, versus 3.757 million in April.
