Ukraine harvests 57.6 mln tonnes of cereals, 17.3 mln tonnes of oilseeds in 2025 - Economy Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Ukraine has completed gathering the 2025 crops, having harvested 57.6 million tonnes of cereals and 17.3 million tonnes of oilseeds, Ukrainian media said citing the Economy, Environment and Agriculture Ministry.

After the harvesting of corn is finished, the overall amount of cereals produced in Ukraine in 2025 is expected to reach about 60 million tonnes, it said.

Considering Ukraine's aspirations to integrate into Europe, the Economy Ministry compared the performance of Ukraine's and the EU's agrarian industry and concluded that Ukraine ranked second among the EU countries in terms of producing cereals.

In particular, Ukraine produced more sunflower than all EU countries taken together, 9 million tonnes against 8.5 million tonnes. Ukraine also harvested 23.5 million tonnes of corn in 2025, while the total corn production in EU countries is 57 million tonnes.

Media have said the performance of the Ukrainian agrarian sector has been causing growing concerns of agricultural producers in EU countries.
