Lenta acquires 67% stake in Far East retailer Remi

MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax) - ICPJSC Lenta has reported acquiring a 67% stake in Remi Group, which unites supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores and discount stores in the Far East.

Remi Group operates stores under the brands of Remi, RemiCity and Economych. The group is one of the leading grocery retailers in the Far East, with overall revenue of approximately 53 billion rubles in 2024.

Lenta said in its statement that the deal included 115 stores in three regions of the Far East - the Primorye territory, the Khabarovsk territory and the Sakhalin region. The stores cover a total area of around 100,000 square meters.

It did not disclose the sum of the deal. The stores will continue to operate under their current brands. Dmitry Suleyev, founder of Remi, will keep his stake in the company's capital and will continue developing the business alongside his current team.

"The integration of the operating processes and logistics infrastructure of Remi Group and Lenta Group will allow for the efficiency of the business to be increased and for costs to be optimized, which will enable affordable prices to be maintained for residents of the Far East," the statement reads.
