Russia-Belarus Union State's 2026 budget to exceed 8 bln Russian rubles
MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Russia-Belarus Union State adopted the union state's budget for 2026 at a meeting on Tuesday.
The budget's revenues are set at 8.066 billion Russian rubles. The revenues are formed through the annual contributions from the Russian and Belarusian budgets. Next year, they will grow by 10% to 7.419 billion Russian rubles, of which 4.822 billion Russian rubles will be provided by the Russian Federation, and 2.597 billion Russian rubles by the Republic of Belarus. The 2026 budget will also include non-tax revenues of 647.4 million rubles, according to the documents.
The 2026 union state budget's expenditures are set at 6.308 billion Russian rubles. This money will be used to finance six programs, one project and 37 events of the union state.
These include programs intended to help enhance the union state's border security, upgrade military infrastructure facilities planned for joint use in the interest of the regional group of forces of Belarus and Russia, and modernize logistics support facilities planned for joint use in the interest of the regional group of forces of Belarus and Russia.
The project envisioned in the union state's 2026 budget will include a major overhaul, renovation, reconstruction, and giving museum status to Brest Fortress sites at the Brest Hero Fortress memorial.
The 2026 budget's surplus of 1.758 billion rubles will be used to finance new programs, projects and events of the Russia-Belarus Union State following their approval by the Union State's Council of Ministers in 2026.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Russia-Belarus Union State is holding its 69th meeting in Moscow under the chairmanship of Russian State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
