Abrau-Dyurso Group plans to produce wine beverages in India
MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - The company Abrau-Dyurso , a leading producer of sparkling wines in Russia, intends to collaborate with the Indian company IndoBevs and at the first stage localize the production of wine beverages in India.
A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in producing alcoholic beverages between Abrau-Dyurso and the company IndoBevs was signed during President Vladimir Putin's visit to India.
It envisages implementing projects for joint production and distribution of alcoholic products in India, Abrau-Dyurso's press service told Interfax. "As part of the first stage of cooperation between the companies, the production of wine beverages based on fruit juice in a ready-to-drink format will be localized in India," the company said.
"IndoBevs is one of India's leading national producers and possesses unique expertise in the production and sales of alcohol," Abrau-Dyurso said. Its distributor portfolio in different years included beverages from Pernod Ricard, Carlsberg, Diageo, William Grant & Sons and Campari. Since 2018 the company has been actively developing its own brands as well.
"For Abrau-Dyurso, India is an important market with colossal potential. The memorandum that was signed is a logical and confident step in implementing the company's international strategy," the press service said.
IndoBevs was founded in 2007 and is one of the fastest-growing alcohol companies in India, with an annual turnover of around 6 billion Indian rupees (approximately $67 million). It produces and sells 15 proprietary alcoholic beverages, premium whiskey and strong spirits, including flagship first-category brands such as BroCode, which is one of the most popular Indian alcoholic beverages. The company's production network includes locations in the states of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka; the total production capacity of IndoBevs is 7 million product units per year.
Abrau-Dyurso Group unites five production assets - three in Krasnodar Territory (the Abrau-Dyurso winery, the Losa production site and the Yubileynaya winery) and two in the Rostov region (Millerovsky Winery and Vedernikov Winery).
The company sold 66.862 million bottles of products in 2024, up 18% compared to 2023. Revenue in 2024 amounted to 15.798 billion rubles, up 26%.
