Ukraine's Naftogaz imports 4.4 bcm of gas since May 2025
MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Naftogaz Group has imported 4.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas since May 2025 and plans to bring this figure to 5 bcm by the end of 2025, Ukrainian media quoted Naftogaz Group Chief Commercial Officer Sergei Fedorenko as saying.
"We are not reducing these imports. Naftogaz imported 500 million cubic meters [mcm] in November alone," media outlets quoted Fedorenko as saying at a press briefing on Wednesday.
The company is using all available import routes, he said, adding that its daily imports increased by around a quarter in December.
"We are now importing 26 mcm [per day]. It was 21 mcm [per day] last month. The increase is due to our package of contracts, as well as due to the market situation and industry, which hedges its gas supply risks," he said.
Naftogaz imports about 80% of the resource, and the rest is provided by private companies, Fedorenko said.
"Given that prices on the domestic market almost match import parity today, private companies are also importing. Therefore, 15%-20% of imports is the private market, and 80% is Naftogaz," Fedorenko said.
