Russia, India to sign memorandum to enhance strategic cooperation on peaceful uses of nuclear power

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The Russian government has accepted Rosatom's proposal to sign a Russian-Indian memorandum on enhancing strategic cooperation on peaceful uses of nuclear power and related high technologies.

The relevant directive signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was published on the official website of legal information on Tuesday.

"To accept the proposal of the Rosatom state nuclear power corporation, agreed on with Russia's Foreign Ministry and other concerned federal executive authorities, and prearranged with the Indian side, regarding the signing of a Russian-Indian intergovernmental memorandum on the enhancement of strategic cooperation in using nuclear power and related high technologies for peaceful purposes," the document said.

Rosatom has been instructed to sign the memorandum on behalf of the Russian government.
