Ukrainian trade deficit widens 50% in 9M - State Statistics Service
MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine's merchandise trade deficit widened 50% to $30.619 billion in January-September 2025, from $20.403 billion in the same period of last year, Ukrainian media quoted the State Statistics Service as saying.
Exports fell 4.1% year-on-year to $29.572 billion, while imports rose 17.5% to $60.191 billion.
Seasonally adjusted exports fell 1.0% in September compared with August 2025 and imports fell 4.2%.
The seasonally adjusted trade deficit narrowed slightly to $3.612 billion in September from $3.874 billion the previous month.
The foreign trade coverage ratio fell to 0.49 in 9M 2025, from 0.60 a year previously.
Ukraine traded with 222 countries.
The services trade surplus narrowed 47.3% to $856.8 million in 9M 2025, from $1.653 billion a year earlier.
Services exports fell 15.7% to $6.339 billion and imports fell 7% to $5.482 billion.
The coverage ratio fell to 1.16 from 1.28.
