Ukrainian Railways posts UAH 7.3 bln net loss, revenue down 15.4% in 9M
MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) reduced its ordinary business revenue by 15.4% year-on-year to UAH 66.03 billion in January-September 2025, also reporting a net loss of UAH 7.32 billion versus UAH 1.66 billion net profit in the same period of 2024, Ukrainian media said, citing the company's report.
Ukrainian Railways' gross loss reached UAH 7.02 billion in the reporting period versus UAH 8.06 billion gross profit in January-September 2024. Its operating loss stood at UAH 3.82 billion against UAH 4.17 billion profit in the same period last year.
Although revenue from passenger transport services increased 11% to UAH 9.5 billion, revenue from freight and postal shipping services fell 19% to UAH 50.1 billion, and revenue from other services also dropped 14.7% to UAH 6.36 billion.
The company's investment expenditures grew to UAH 11.51 billion in January-September 2025 from UAH 9.46 billion in the same period of 2024. The amount of available cash fell to UAH 6.81 billion from UAH 13.02 billion as of the beginning of 2025, and from UAH 17.27 billion a year ago.
Ukrainian Railway's equity decreased to UAH 181.34 billion, while its liabilities grew from UAH 90.30 billion to UAH 109.70 billion, with current liabilities rising from UAH 18.43 billion to UAH 48.23 billion. The company's net debt increased from UAH 55.87 billion to UAH 73.01 billion in January-September 2025.
State grants for this period of 2025 stood at UAH 18.94 billion versus UAH 9.66 billion in January-September 2024.
