Central Bank of Russia planning to publish data on mutual funds on website
YEKATERINBURG. Nov 13 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia is planning to begin publishing information on certain parameters of mutual investment funds of management companies on its website, Central Bank Deputy Governor Philipp Gabunia said.
"We have surveyed investors. There is solid demand for a comparison tool, so that they could see this somewhere, namely comparing commissions and so on. There are aggregators. However, on the other hand, we might try to post some of the most significant parameters on our website, specifically results and commission fees in order to render it somewhat simpler for investors to compare and make their choices," Gabunia said at the Russian National Association of Securities Market Participants (NAUFOR) Ural Conference.
Gabunia said that the Central Bank does not yet have a precise design for what this would resemble.
"'Aggregator' is probably a bit overstated. We will just try to compile something that is visual. We will see what we could put together. Simply put, so one could see mutual fund such-and-such, mutual fund so-and-so, thus one could compare them. Commissions could be extracted, and so on. However, it is still a work in progress, so I could not say when we would complete this or exactly how it would appear," he explained later to reporters on the sidelines of the conference.
