Kazakhstan, Russia agree to expand transit and transport opportunities - Tokayev
ASTANA. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and Russia have agreed to expand a number of transit and transport projects, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
"We agreed to broaden the scope of the North-South transport corridors, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the Ayagoz-Bakhty, Dostyk-Moiynty railway lines and a number of other projects," Tokayev said.
He said the talks highlighted the importance of improving cross-border logistics infrastructure and streamlining border checkpoints.
"We intend to continue to develop the promising Trans-Altai Dialogue initiative. This format is intended to become an effective platform for expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan, Russia, China and Mongolia in the spirit of good neighborliness and mutual benefit," Tokayev said.
