Ukraine's Energoatom posts UAH 12.8 bln net profit in 9M

MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Energoatom, Ukraine's state-owned nuclear power company, reported profit before tax at UAH 15.717 billion and net profit at UAH 12.839 billion in January-September 2025, having posted losses of UAH 5.503 billion and UAH 4.593 billion, respectively, in the same period of 2024.

Energoatom's revenue rose 33.4% year-on-year to UAH 173.874 billion in 9M, Ukrainian media said, citing the company's report.

"As of September 30, 2025, the company's current assets were UAH 21.883 billion larger than its current liabilities due to a reduction of its bills payable for goods, work and services and the bills payable related to capital expenditure, as well as the higher cost of production stocks," the report said.

Energoatom had UAH 7.54 billion in available cash as of the end of September, down from UAH 8.62 billion at the beginning of the year, it said.

The profit received by the company allowed it to reduce uncovered losses from UAh 342.72 billion to UAH 330.87 billion. As of September 30, 2025, Energoatom had UAH 271.08 billion in positive equity, having generated UAH 24.21 billion in positive net cash flows from its operations in January-September 2025 versus UAH 14.17 billion in the same period last year.

Energoatom sold 35.4 million MWh of electricity in January-September 2025 versus 35 million MWh in the respective period of 2024, according to the report.

Net cash flows used in the company's investment activity reached UAH 17.48 billion in January-September 2025, which is 85.0% more than in the same period of 2024, it said.

Its total future commitments to acquire fixed assets stood at UAH 31.93 billion as of the end of September compared with UAH 29.67 billion a year earlier.

Energoatom's stocks of nuclear fuel and nuclear material increased from UAH 28.23 billion to UAH 37.43 billion in January-September 2025. At the same time, the amount of nuclear fuel stored at the company's depots fell from UAH 19.80 billion to UAH 13.82 billion, while the nuclear material stocks went up from UAH 990 million to UAH 12.50 billion, and the amount of nuclear fuel in the active zone increased from UAH 7.44 billion to UAH 11.10 billion.

Other operating stocks increased from UAH 3.42 billion to UAH 4.80 billion in the reporting period.

Energoatom operates nine nuclear power units with a total capacity of 7,880 MW at the Rovno, Khmelnitsky and South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plants located in the Ukraine-controlled territory.

The report was published against the backdrop of the dismissal of Energoatom's supervisory board by the Ukrainian government amid a corruption investigation.
