Ukrainian government orders early termination of Energoatom Supervisory Board members
MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko has announced the early termination of members of the Energoatom Supervisory Board, Ukrainian media said, citing her statement on a social network.
The Economy Ministry is tasked with conducting consultations with international partners and nominating new members of the Supervisory Board for approval by the government within a week, Sviridenko said.
"The task of new members is to quickly re-establish management, conduct a full audit of the company, and provide comprehensive assistance to law enforcement agencies in investigating possible corruption," she said.
Media linked the government's decision directly to a corruption scandal, which involves the leadership of the Ukrainian energy industry among others.
