Russian, Uzbek presidents discuss further bilateral relations, big joint projects, including in energy sector - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev by phone, the Kremlin press service said in a statement on Tuesday.
The leaders "discussed further development of the Russian-Uzbekistani relations as strategic partnership and alliance across the whole host of areas," the statement said.
"Special attention was given to implementing big joint projects, including in the energy sector," it said.
The leaders "noted the important role of inter-regional cooperation in strengthening the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and the considerable practical outcome from the Russia-Uzbekistan Inter-Regional Council meeting in the Moscow region in October this year," the statement said.
The presidents also touched on pressing international topics and agreed to continue to maintain regular contact at various levels, it said.
