Russia boosts agricultural exports to Uzbekistan 15% to $938 mln in 10M - Agroexport
MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Russia boosted exports of agricultural products to Uzbekistan 15% year-on-year to $938 million in 10M 2025, the Agroexport federal center said, citing expert estimates.
Consequently, Uzbekistan has entered the top 10 buyers of Russian food products this year.
Sugar and raw sugar were the core of Russian exports, with $188 million worth shipped in 10M 2025, up 37% year-on-year. Chocolate confectionery products were second, increasing 10% year-on-year to $82 million. Soybean meal and cake were third at $61 million, down 25% year-on-year.
Russia this year has also boosted exports of bakery and flour confectionery products to Uzbekistan 20%, sweet carbonated drinks 21%, mayonnaise and sauces 25%, margarine 31%, cheese and cottage cheese 34%, frozen fish nearly 1.5-fold, cat and dog food 1.6-fold, instant coffee twofold, poultry 2.7-fold, and live animals twelvefold.
"Uzbekistan is one of Russia's strategic partners in agriculture. From 2018 to 2024, Russian food supplies to the republic's market increased 2.8-fold, and there is potential for further export growth. According to our estimates, agricultural exports to Uzbekistan could exceed $1.4 billion by 2030," Agroexport head Ilya Ilyushin said in the statement.
Alexei Ulyanov, a representative of the Russian Agriculture Ministry in Uzbekistan, said that agricultural trade between Russia and Uzbekistan jumped 20.5% year-on-year in 9M 2025.
"The share of Russian products in Uzbekistan's agricultural imports exceeded 24% in value terms in 2024," he said.
Ulyanov also said that Russian agricultural exports are highly diversified, ranging from supplies of ingredients for the food industry to finished products on store shelves.
"We see potential for increased supplies of sugar, poultry, dairy and fish products, live cattle and small ruminants, and other products in demand on the local market under current conditions," he said.
According to the report, the Resource group of agricultural enterprises has been collaborating with partners from Uzbekistan since 2016. A representative said that the company supplies broiler chicken and bottled sunflower oil. Furthermore, test consignments of wheat flour were shipped last year.
"Poultry exports exceeded the overall 2024 supply volume by 12% in the first nine months of 2025," the representative said.
