Azerbaijan's SOCAR plans to invite China's Huawei to implement digital solutions in gas infrastructure
BAKU. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Representatives of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and its SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations LLC (SMGO) subsidiary during a business visit to China discussed with Huawei management implementing digital solutions in Azerbaijan's gas infrastructure.
"During the meeting, the parties looked into the possibilities of integrating digital solutions and intelligent control systems into SOCAR's gas infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and implement innovative technologies in energy management," SMGO posted on social media.
The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation and exploring promising technology initiatives to support SOCAR's ongoing digital transformation.
SMGO Executive Director Polad Rustamov led the delegation that included employees responsible for the operation and modernization of gas infrastructure and the development of technological partnerships.
SMGO is a division of SOCAR responsible for managing, supervising, and operating all gas transportation infrastructure, including gas pipelines and storage facilities in Azerbaijan and abroad.
