Russia, China to sign memorandum of cooperation in healthcare - Russian health minister

BEIJING. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Russia and China plan to sign a memorandum of cooperation in healthcare in November, which will give a new impetus to make both countries' standards for quality and safety of medical products closer, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said.

"The work done by the Scientific Center for the Examination of Medical Products of the Health Ministry and the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control in the People's Republic of China has now been completed. It is planned to sign the memorandum in late November, which will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation, to making the pharmacopeial standards for safety and quality of medical products closer," Murashko said at a meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation in Beijing on Saturday.

More than 100 medications from China, over 600 substances and more than 3,500 medical products of Chinese manufactures are registered in Russia, Murashko said.
