China's Angel Yeast to invest 11 bln rubles in expanding yeast production in Lipetsk region

LIPETSK. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Angel Yeast Rus LLC (Dankov, Lipetsk region), a subsidiary of China's Angel Yeast, will invest over 11 billion rubles in constructing the third stage of a yeast production facility in the Lipetsk region, the regional authorities' press service said.

A corresponding agreement was signed by Lipetsk region Governor Igor Artamonov and a representative of Angel Yeast as part of a business mission to China.

Completing construction of the third production line and its achievement of full capacity of 22,000 tonnes of yeast per year is planned by the end of 2027. "After the project's implementation, the enterprise will be able to produce 55,000 tonnes of dry yeast, 3,000 tonnes of food ingredients, and 92,000 tonnes of liquid organic fertilizers or feed per year," the press service said.

Yeast production at the Angel Yeast plant in the Lipetsk region was launched in 2019. The construction of the first stage was carried out from 2016, with investment at 7 billion rubles. As part of the 2019 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an agreement was signed to build the second stage of the enterprise within two years, with investment of 2.6 billion rubles, providing for an expansion of capacity to 32,000 tonnes of dry yeast and 42,000 tonnes of organic fertilizers per year.

Angel Yeast was established in 1986 and specializes in researching, developing and producing yeast, yeast extracts and their derivative products - feed additives, biological substrates and pharmaceutical raw materials. The company's products are supplied to more than 170 countries. Angel Yeast's production bases are located in 13 cities worldwide, including Egypt and Russia.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Angel Yeast Rus LLC was registered in August 2015. The revenue of the LLC for 2024 amounted to 8.075 billion rubles (6.802 billion rubles the year before) and its net profit was 959 million rubles compared to a loss of 485 million rubles in 2023.
