Dmitriev says his meetings in Washington will be held mainly behind closed doors
NEW YORK. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president's special envoy and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said he will meet with several representatives of the U.S. administration and one of the meetings will be public.
"We will not say in detail who we are meeting with. We are meeting with several representatives of the administration. There will also be one more meeting, which I think we will make public," Dmitriev told reporters.
In the meantime, there will be mainly discussions behind closed doors on "how to continue the dialogue, again, based on respect for Russia's interests, based on the understanding of Russia's position, which the president spoke about yesterday," he said.
Dmitriev earlier said he was in the U.S. at the invitation of the U.S. side. "This visit was planned a long time ago and was not cancelled by the U.S. side, despite those unfriendly actions that the U.S. side has taken recently," he said.
