AI development unlocks new opportunities for economic growth, while bearing serious risks - Putin
MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Russia is ready for very active cooperation with foreign partners in protecting digital rights of citizens, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
The swift development of information and communication technologies, including artificial intelligence, "not just unlocks new opportunities for economic growth and higher living standards but also bears rather serious risks," Putin said in his greetings to participants in the Human Rights Protection Issues: Sharing Best Practices of Ombudsmen international conference.
"Our country is consistently implementing a set of measures to protect digital rights of citizens, is doing systemic work to improve legislation that regulates the collection, transfer, processing and storage of personal data, and is implementing advanced methods of ensuring cybersecurity," Putin said.
"I would like to confirm Russia's openness to the exchange of practices and very active interaction with foreign partners in this area," he said.
