Kazakhstan considering listing government bonds on NYSE
ASTANA. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of listing government securities on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Kazakh Economy Ministry's press service said.
A Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and National Economy Minister Serik Zhumangarin visited the NYSE as part of their participation in the annual sessions of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the press service said.
"The Kazakh side was interested in issues related to the possibilities of listing Kazakhstan's government securities, as well as the prospects for large national companies with state participation to enter the stock exchange," it said.
Representatives of the NYSE answered questions and shared experience in organizing trade and interacting with issuers.
The NYSE is the largest and one of the oldest trading platforms in the world. The exchange is part of the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) holding.
