Putin asks govt to deliver program for developing hard-to-recover gas reserves on schedule

MOSCOW. Oct. 16 (Interfax) - Russia needs to replenish its gas resources due to high production levels, including by developing hard-to-recover gas reserves, President Vladimir Putin said during the Russian Energy Week.

"Russia has unique gas reserves, and we are maintaining a high level of production. But we need to work on our resource base, replenishing it, including by developing hard-to-recover reserves. At the beginning of the year, I asked the government to daft a special program in the center of our gas industry, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, and I ask my colleagues to complete this work on schedule and start implementing the program," he said.
