Damate expands exports of Peking duck meat to African countries

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Oct 15 (Interfax) - New Duck Farms LLC (Rostov region, part of Damate Group) has sent the first batches of Peking duck meat to the Central African Republic (CAR) and Togo, the Rostov region's Agriculture and Food Ministry told Interfax.

The company is shipping duck wings to these two African states, where they are in high demand.

According to a ministry representative, prior to the start of shipments, Damate's enterprises underwent a comprehensive audit for compliance with the importing countries' requirements. Its results showed that the duck meat production facility meets international standards for quality and safety.

"The enterprise began exporting duck meat in 2021. Today, products are sold to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Angola and Gabon. Furthermore, the company was the first in Russia to start exporting duck to China, which is the world's largest producer and consumer of duck meat," the ministry representative said.

Damate is a multi-profile holding company, producing turkey, duck and lamb, and is also engaged in milk processing. The group's assets are located in the Penza, Rostov and Tyumen regions, and in the North Caucasus Federal District. The land fund amounts to over 108,000 hectares.

The holding's Indyushkin Dvor LLC (turkey farming) and New Duck Farms LLC (duck farming) operate in the Rostov region.
