Putin, Mirziyoyev discuss promotion of major Russian-Uzbek investment, energy projects - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev by phone, the Russian presidential press service said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The parties discussed current matters on the bilateral agenda, including the promotion of major joint projects in the trade, investment and energy sectors. There is an increase in bilateral trade. They also said they are pleased with close practical cooperation between a number of key agencies of the two countries," the statement said.
The two leaders reaffirmed "their commitment to further strengthening Russian-Uzbek allied relations and agreed to continue contacts," it said.
The Uzbek presidential press service has earlier reported the conversation. In particular, the press service said in a statement that matters of advancing and fostering Uzbek-Russian "relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance in the context of the practical implementation of agreements at the top level" were discussed.
