Russian Energy Ministry working on increasing sales of winter diesel fuel on exchange, export ban for producers not being considered
MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - The Energy Ministry has updated industry plans for the production of off-season, winter, and Arctic types of diesel fuel, and said that the needs of the domestic market will be fully met.
"Work is also underway to increase the supply of winter grades of diesel fuel on the exchange to curb seasonal price growth," the ministry said regarding information about a possible ban on diesel fuel exports for producers.
"The Russian Energy Ministry is currently not considering the possibility of banning diesel fuel exports for its producers. The specified issue was not discussed at the meeting of the headquarters on the situation in the domestic oil products market, which took place at the ministry on October 2, 2025," it said.
The ministry continues to take all necessary measures to maintain stability and the uninterrupted supply of the economy and the country's population with all types and grades of fuel, monitors the market conditions of petroleum products on a daily basis, and conducts constant work with companies of the industry, taking into account the operational situation.
As reported, a ban on diesel fuel exports for non-producers has been introduced from October to December inclusive.
