Naftogaz to import up to 500 mcm of LNG from U.S. in 2025 -CEO

MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - The volume of LNG imported by the Naftogaz Group from the United States via European countries in 2025 will reach approximately 500 million cubic meters, Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Sergei Koretsky said.

"We are making progress this season thanks to the rapid response and assistance of the Polish concern Orlen. They have long-term contracts to supply this gas to Europe. We have received part of it - 500 million cubic meters. The main part of LNG is already in Ukraine, the rest is in the process of delivery," Ukrainian media quoted him as saying on Wednesday.

These volumes account only for 8% of total current gas imports, but "it is several times more than ever before for LNG from the U.S.," Koretsky said.
