Presidents of Azerbaijan, Rwanda discuss energy cooperation, investment in projects

BAKU. Sept 22 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said he had discussed bilateral energy cooperation and investment with his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame.

"We have discussed opportunities in the energy sector today. Both countries are actively working on it, they are also working on the mining industry, which has a potential for strengthening our cooperation," Aliyev told the press after bilateral negotiations in Baku on Saturday.

The sides need to expand contacts at various levels and exchange visits of business delegations, in particular, to discuss joint capabilities, in order to deepen cooperation, he said.

"I have declared our readiness to take part in investment projects in Rwanda and I am confident that the president's visit and our discussions will lay a solid foundation for the economic and trade partnership. We have perfect political relations, and we need to attain the same level of relations in every other area," Aliyev said.
