RAPU raises Russia's 2025 fertilizer export forecast to 45 mln tonnes, up 7%
MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - The export of mineral fertilizers from Russia this year may reach 45 million tonnes if the current shipment pace is maintained, the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association (RAPU) said.
This is 7% higher than the figure for 2024. The previous forecast assumed 5% growth to 44 million tonnes.
Russia increased exports of mineral fertilizers 8% year-on-year in January-August to 29.8 million tonnes, RAPU said.
The annual production forecast for fertilizers remains at 65 million tonnes, up 3% compared to 2024.
"According to preliminary results for nine months, the chemical market demonstrates a higher level of global prices for phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers due to active demand primarily from India, as well as other countries of the Global South, amid prolonged export restrictions in China until almost the end of June 2025. After the lifting of these restrictions, prices corrected slightly, but a more noticeable decline is being hindered by the development of seasonal demand in India and in the markets of Asia and Latin America," RAPU said.
