Trump hoping to speak with Putin in coming days

WASHINGTON. Sept 8 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump has said he plans to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days.

"Very soon. Over the next couple of days," Trump told the press at the Joint Base Andrews near Washington.

He said he was "not thrilled" with the Ukraine situation.

"I am not happy with them. I'm not happy with anything having to do with that war," Trump said.

He said though the situation would be resolved.

"I believe we're going to get it settled," Trump said.

A number of EU leaders will visit the White House early this week to discuss the Ukraine peace deal, Trump said.

"Certain European leaders are coming over to our country on Monday or Tuesday individually, and I think we're going to get that settled," he said.
