Negotiations with Ukraine to continue in Istanbul format soon - Russian MP

NOVOSIBIRSK. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Negotiations with Ukraine will continue in the Istanbul format soon, Russian Liberal Democratic Party leader, head of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Leonid Slutsky said.

"The next round for our negotiating team, professional and competent, let by Vladimir Medinsky, yes, it may happen soon," Slutsky told the press in Novosibirsk on Friday.

Negotiations in the Istanbul format retain "a symbolic place" in the conflict resolution mechanism, at least, this is the vision of the Russian side, he said.
