Gazprom gas supplies to Russian market hit all-time summer high as weather cools

MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Gazprom has set a new all-time summer high for daily gas supplies from the Unified Gas Supply System (UGSS) in Russia.

The new record of 707.9 million cubic meters was set on August 25.

"The heightened gas consumption is due to the cold weather that set in at the beginning of this week in the Northwestern and Central Federal Districts," the company said.

The previous high of 701.8 mcm was seen on August 23, 2024.

The UGSS is the network of Gazprom's trunk gas pipelines that covers the European part of Russia and Siberia as far as Altai and Kuzbass. Standalone gas transmission networks, which should eventually be connected to the UGSS, currently supply gas to consumers further east.
