Kazakhstan harvests grain from 14% of area to date, threshes 3.1 mln tonnes - ministry
ASTANA. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's farmers have harvested grain crops from 2.2 million hectares as on August 25, or 13.7% of the total area sown, and 3.1 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, the country's Agriculture Ministry said.
Additionally, 24,400 tonnes of oilseeds, 525,500 tonnes of potatoes, 1.6 million tonnes of vegetables, and 1.8 million tonnes of melons have been harvested.
Overall, 23.6 million hectares have been sown in Kazakhstan for the 2025 harvest, of which 16 million hectares are grain and leguminous crops.
Kazakhstan's farmers threshed 26.5 million tonnes of grain in 2024, with an average yield of 16 c/ha.
