Novabev Group begins modernizing cybersecurity system
MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Novabev Group , which suffered a cyberattack in July, is revising its approaches to protecting IT infrastructure.
"Modern cyber threats require constant development of security systems. In cooperation with leading cybersecurity experts, the company is not only analyzing the incident but also implementing necessary changes to counter new challenges," the group said in a press release.
Despite difficulties caused by the attackers, who demanded a ransom in exchange for data decryption, Novabev Group has restored key business processes, Novabev said. "Currently, product shipments are being made through all sales channels, VinLab stores have been operating normally since late July, and the network's online platforms, including order placement via app or website, have been restored," it said.
On Friday, August 15, the VinLab retail chain announced the resumption of operations after the cyberattack. "Online orders and the WINCLUB loyalty program are back with you," the chain's Telegram channel said.
Novabev Group also said that as part of its modernization program, it has implemented and is planning additional measures - enhanced 24/7 threat monitoring, restructuring of network infrastructure using maximum segmentation principles, and creating a more reliable data backup system. "Special attention will be paid to improving team awareness of cybersecurity with a focus on countering modern hacker schemes. This will not only minimize risks of similar incidents in the future, but also create a security culture at all levels of the group," the company said.
