Russian, Armenian FMs discuss Pashinyan-Trump-Aliyev meeting, bilateral agenda over phone - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan briefed his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov over the phone on Monday on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's contacts with U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

"Lavrov emphasized the importance of achieving a durable peace between Baku and Yerevan along the lines of the 2020-2022 top-level trilateral agreements reached with Russia's central role," the statement said.

"Moscow's readiness to continue to facilitate the comprehensive normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia was reaffirmed," it said.

"The sides also discussed a number of current issues on the Russian-Armenian agenda," the statement said.

The phone conversation took place at Yerevan's initiative, it said.
