Uzbekistan's Fergana refinery starts processing Jet A1 aviation fuel

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan's Fergana Oil Refinery has launched serial processing of Jet A1 aviation fuel, Saneg, the company that controls the refinery, said.

Processing will total 10,000 tonnes per month at the first stage, with the prospect of boosting refining to 20,000-25,000 tonnes per month.

Processing at Fergana Oil Refinery will increase the share of local aviation fuel on Uzbekistan's market from 40%-50% to 70%-80%.

"We intend to cover most of the domestic demand for aviation fuel and reach a qualitatively new level in terms of product technology," Saneg JetWhites director Azizbek Gayupov said in the statement.

Commissioned in 1959, Fergana Oil Refinery currently processes over 60 types of petroleum products. The company has been part of Saneg, which accounts for 80% of oil production in the country, since May 2022.
