Russia has harvested around 64 mln tonnes of grain to date - Agriculture Ministry
TULA. Aug 7 (Interfax) - In Russia has threshed about 19 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops to date and harvested around 64 million tonnes of grain, Deputy Agriculture Minister Andrei Razin said.
"We are currently already adding one centner to the average yield in the country, largely owing to the regions of Central Russia and the Volga Federal District," Razin said during an operational meeting on the harvesting work in 2025 in the constituent entities of the Central Federal District.
Razin said that the high intensity of the harvesting campaign in the country overall.
Participants at the meeting reviewed the progress of work and yield indicators in the Moscow, Ivanovo, Smolensk, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Kaluga, Bryansk, and Vladimir regions, according to the press service of the government of the Tver Region. Issues of interest to farmers, such as purchasing fertilizers, upgrading agricultural machinery, and others, were also discussed.
As reported, the Agriculture Ministry forecasts that the grain harvest will be 135 million tonnes this year, including 90 million tonnes of wheat. According to the ministry's data presented at the All-Russian Agronomical Meeting, spring grain crops have been planted on 28.833 million hectares (compared to 28.93 million hectares in 2024), while winter grain crops occupy 19.083 million hectares (versus 18.57 million hectares). The final data on sown areas (so-called spring accounting data) have not yet been published.
