Annual inflation in Kazakhstan at 11.8% in July, monthly inflation at 0.7%

ALMATY. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Monthly inflation in Kazakhstan in July 2025 amounted to 0.7%, slowing from 0.8% in June, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.

In annual terms, July inflation equaled 11.8%, remaining at the same level as in June (11.8%).

Analysts polled by Interfax forecasted annual inflation at 11.7%-12.3% in July and monthly inflation at 0.7%-0.9%. The official statistics thus came in closer to the lower end of analysts' expectations.

Prices for paid services rose 14.9% year-on-year in July (compared with 16.1% in June), food products increased 11.2% (10.6%), and non-food products rose 9.5% (9.4%).

Compared to July last year, tariffs for cold water increased 96.1%, wastewater services - 34.6%, central heating - 19.2%, gas transported through distribution networks - 15.5%, hot water - 15.5%, electricity - 11.3% and housing maintenance fees - 11.9%.

In annual terms, price increases were recorded for fruit and vegetables (19.4%), oils and fats (20.3%), non-alcoholic beverages (12.2%) and meat and meat products (13.2%).

On a regional basis, in July 2025, the inflation rate exceeded the national average in seven regions, with the highest levels in the Karaganda region (13.8%) and the cities of Almaty (13.2%) and Astana (12.3%).
