There was no process of returning U.S. businesses to Russia, so there is nothing to halt - Peskov
MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has dismissed reports about a pause in the process of returning U.S. businesses to Russia: there was no such process.
"There was no process of U.S. business returning to Russia, so there was nothing to be 'put on pause'," the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Thursday.
He was commenting, at the request of Interfax, on several media reports alleging that all processes relating to U.S. companies' return to Russia were now put on hold.
He also commented on Trump's recent social media post, which said that Russian-U.S. business was effectively at zero point and should better stay there. Asked how Russia must react to such statements, Peskov said: "To agree in terms of Russian-U.S. business being actually practically zero. And to disagree that it should stay there. We believe that it would be also in the U.S. business interest and we know that U.S. business is keen, many U.S. businessmen are keen on restoring interaction with the Russian side. Our businessmen are also keen on the U.S. market."
