Ukrainians may stay in U.S. until end of crisis - Trump

MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he is likely to allow Ukrainian citizens who left their country because of the crisis to stay in the United States until the crisis is over, Ukrainian media said.

"I think we will, yeah. We have a lot of people who came in from Ukraine, and we're working with them," Trump said upon being asked by a journalist whether he will allow Ukrainians who left their country because of the crisis to stay in the U.S. until the end of the crisis.

The U.S. has granted asylum to tens of thousands of Ukrainians since the start of the crisis in 2022. According to Forbes data, more than 187,000 Ukrainians had arrived in the U.S. by June 2025 through the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program.
