Unipro boosts electricity output 7% to 29.48 bln kWh in H1 2025
MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - PJSC Unipro boosted output of electricity 7% year-on-year to 29.48 billion kWh in the first half of 2025, the generating company posted on its website.
The company said that this growth in production was driven by the Beryozovskaya power plant in the second energy price zone, which includes Siberia and the Far East. The plant boosted output 45% to 6.3 billion kWh due to decreased utilization of hydroelectric power capacities in Siberia. In the first price zone, which includes the European part of Russia and the Urals, Unipro reported that its electricity output had remained the same as last year, at 23.2 billion kWh.
Thermal power output fell 13% to 1.03 million Gcal due to weather conditions, the company said.
Unipro owns five thermal power plants with combined capacity of 11.3 GW in Russia. Germany's Uniper owns 83.73% of shares in Unipro, which have been under the Russian Federal Property Agency's management since April 2023. Uniper said in spring 2024 that it had effectively been unable to exercise day-to-day management of the Russian asset since the end of 2022.
