Kazakhstan cuts oil exports to Germany by almost 30% to 160,000 tonnes in June
MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Exports of Kazakh oil to Germany through Russia's Druzhba pipeline system dropped by 29% month-on-month to 160,000 tonnes in June, Kazakhstan's state oil and gas company, KazMunayGas (KMG) told Interfax.
"Shipments of Kazakh oil through the trunk pipeline system of [Russia's] Transneft in the direction of the Adamova Zastava transfer point for subsequent delivery to Germany totalled 160,000 tonnes in June 2025," the company said in response to a question from the agency.
It was reported earlier that Kazakh oil exports to Germany totalled 230,000 tonnes in May.
KMG did not provide exact figures for planned shipments in July. The company initially said Kazakhstan planned to export 1.5 million tonnes of oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline in 2025, which would have been the same as the amount exported in 2024 through this route. But later KMG materials showed that there are plans to increase oil exports to Germany to 2 million tonnes in 2025.
Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said earlier that shipments could be increased to 2 million tonnes if Germany requested this.
Kazakhstan has been exporting oil to Germany through Transneft's pipeline system in the direction of the Adamova Zastava transfer point since 2023.
