Kremlin says necessary to start discussing conflict settlement memoranda with Ukraine

MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Moscow is hoping to start discussing the draft conflict settlement memoranda with Kiev but believes it would be a complicated and lengthy process, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"You know that certain work has already been done, and two very difficult rounds [of negotiations in Istanbul] have been held. We are expecting the third round to take place after all and the dialogue to be continued. We need to start discussing the memoranda that was exchanged," Peskov told the press on Wednesday.

"That will also be a very complicated process, which will take more than one night or one day," he said.

The Kremlin hopes the United States will continue efforts to settle the Ukraine conflict despite the decisions to resume U.S. weapons supplies to Ukraine, Peskov said.

"We hope that Trump and his team will continue efforts to get the Ukrainian settlement process onto a political and diplomatic track, despite all decisions to resume the supplies of weapons, although no one in reality had stopped any supplies," Peskov told reporters.
