Alcohol sales in Russia fall 16.1% in H1 - Rosalkogoltabakcontrol
MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - Retail sales of alcoholic products (excluding beer, beer-based beverages, cider, poire and mead) in Russia decreased 16.1% year-on-year in January-June 2025, to 73.9 million decaliters, the Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Oversight (Rosalkogoltabakcontrol) said.
The sharpest decline was observed in the low-alcohol beverage market, with sales dropping nearly 91% to 725,400 dal.
Retail vodka sales fell 10.9% to 31.38 million dal.
Retail sales of grape wines increased 12.4% in H1 to 17.66 million dal. Consumers purchased 18.5% more sparkling wines (champagne) during this period, at 7.2 million dal, while liqueur wine sales fell 9.6% to 644,900 dal.
According to Rosalkogoltabakcontrol, sales of brandy stood at 3.45 million dal, down 17%, while total sales of alcoholic beverages with a strength above 9% amounted to 46.83 million dal, down 9.5%.
