Azerbaijan Railways appoints new CEO of Baku International Commercial Seaport

BAKU. July 7 (Interfax) - Eldar Salakhov has been appointed the new CEO of Baku International Commercial Seaport LLC, CJSC Azerbaijan Railways, to which the port was transferred, said.

Taleh Ziyadov has been the CEO of the seaport since November 2014.

Salakhov began his career at Azerbaijan Railways in September 2024 as head of the international relations department.

As reported previously, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on February 25, 2025, on reorganizing Azerbaijan Railways by merging CJSC Baku International Commercial Seaport, currently transformed into a LLC, with it. The authorities recapitalized Azerbaijan Railways in April, increasing the authorized charter capital by 2.2-fold to 1.99 billion, or $1.17 billion at the current exchange rate.

The government wholly owns CJSC Azerbaijan Railways.
