Kyrgyz president, Russian FM discuss bilateral cooperation, interaction as part of integration organizations
BISHKEK. June 30 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has received Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said on Sunday.
"Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has received Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov and discussed with him relevant issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as interaction as part of integration associations," the press service said.
Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches priority importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with Russia which is gradually strengthened in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership, the press service said.
"Russia remains Kyrgyzstan's most important commercial and economic partner. Direct investments from Russia demonstrate positive dynamic, and Russia continues to be the largest investor in the country's economy," Japarov said.
The Kyrgyz president paid special attention to the role of the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund, naming it as one of the key instruments in the strengthening of investment cooperation, the press service said.
Lavrov, for his part, conveyed Japarov Russian President Vladimir Putin's greetings.
"The fact that the heads of state set the tone in establishing interactions, carrying out objectives emerging in the variety of fields requires us, as foreign ministers, among others, to actively ensure the coordinated work of all bodies of state power," Lavrov said.
In addition to bilateral plans, there are regular objectives carried out as part of integration processes in the shared CIS space, he said.
